The Amazon and the Yanomami People

The Amazon and the Yanomami People

The Amazon rainforest is the largest rainforest on Earth. Located mainly in Brazil (South America) it supports a huge number of plant and animal species. However in recent decades the Amazon has been put at risk for a number of reasons. This has greatly affected indigenous populations of the Amazon, including the Yanomami people. Although one of the biggest groups of indigenous people in the Amazon, the Yanomami people are severely under threat, and it is feared that they will not be able to live in their traditional way for much longer.
